The 2011 Teen Choice Awards night held at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles, California on August 7,2011 went through smoothly. Just like the past Teen Choice awarding nights, the venue was jam packed with celebrities. Some A-list stars attended the show. Couples were also spotted... the most famous would be the Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber partnership. Hunk father Mark Wahlberg came along with her seven-year old daughter to be his gorgeous escort. As usual there were celebs in outfits that were worth praised for and some were worth criticized for.

There will always be controversies in this kind of events. In the 2011 Teen Choice Awards night, the talk-of-the-town was the gesture of Black Eyed Peas' Fergie when Ashton Kutcher sang a Katy Perry song. She wasn't able to hide her disappointment after Kutcher defeated her husband Josh Duhamel in the Choice Movie Actor Romantic Comedy category.

Manny Many Prizes

I watched the premiere of “Manny Many Prizes” aired on GMA7 a while ago. It was hosted by none other than the pound-for-pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao together with Paolo Contis, Gladys Guevarra, Onyok Velasco, Rhiann Ramos and Isabelle Daza.

This is another show that offers big monetary opportunities to the Filipino people. As I watched the show, it seemed that it is aired just to provide money to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. And Manny Pacquiao is the perfect person to distribute lots of cash to their studio audiences.

The premiere show was held live at the AFP Theatre in Quezon City. I guess that there are more or less a thousand audiences at the venue. And all of the audiences will go home as winners. All of them will receive prizes as well.

The games are so simple. It started with the balloons which has corresponding cash prize. Then there was also Manny's pick which depended on the ticket numbers. The chosen number will be given 25,000. The videoke-sort of contest was also fun. There was a competition of a barangayan team wherein a member of the winning team was give a franchise of a food cart business.

What struck me most was the selection of 5 audiences who will have the chance to win a house and lot. All they had to do was to dance for their life. The selected five winners will go through a question-and-answer portion. Whoever loses will receive 30,000 consolation prize. I was really amazed with the prize. Their consolation prize is equivalent to the jackpot prizes of other game shows. The remaining contestant wasn't able to win, however, Pacman decided to give him the house and lot prize. The elderly man contestant lives in Payatas. He is so deserving to have a new residence.

All in all, the show is entertaining. Though, it is obvious that Manny is so conscious in hosting. Well, we can't blame him. This is is first game show and it is aired live.

The show provides light to the dim situation of the Filipino people. It provides a huge glimpse of hope to those who lost faith in themselves and in humanity. This is a show not only for entertainment nor for money, but for giving fulfillment to other people.

Kudos to GMA7, to Manny and his co-hosts for the job well done!

After one year and one month, the beautiful ladies in the Philippines will gather at the Araneta Coliseum on April 10, 2011 to showcase their God-given and unique beauties. There are 40 amazing candidates from all over the country who will contend for the crown.

After the honor brought by 2010 Binibining Pilipinas queens Venus Raj and Krista Kleiner in international competition, we are all hopeful that the succeeding queens would do the same if not better than them.

Crisis in Japan

The March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster in Japan made the world grieve. The said natural calamities resulted to more than 13,000 dead and missing individuals. Not only that, there is fear of nuclear meltdown in the Fukushima Nuclear Plant. The possibility of nuclear catastrophe frightens not only the people in Japan but also its neighboring countries. As of today, the international alert level of radiation has been raised from 4 to 5. Foreigners in the country already went home to their respective lands. The plight of Japan is a heart-breaker in two different ways.

First, the scene left by the earthquake and the tsunami is so huge. You can only imagine the lives that were swept by the 150mile per hour current of seawater. Since the country has advanced technology, this tragedy is the most well-documented natural disaster in the world. And you can see how earthquake shook buildings and how tsunami waved the water and land vessels. The videos of the catastrophic event breaks my heart into pieces.

Lastly, this unfortunate happening in Japan showed their true color. And it is such an inspiration. Their nationalism, honesty, commitment and sacrifice to help each other makes my heart grow fonder. The videos showing rescue operations and animal care gives hope despite the tragedy. Only in Japan that looting is not an option, store owners did not increase their products' prices. In fact, they reduce the price or they give away their stocks to those who are in need. Only in Japan that the fathers of the family send their wives and children to safer places while they stay on their community to help fellow Japanese. The discipline exemplified by the Japanese people is the reason why Japan is a first-world country. This behavior of the people in Japan fills my heart with admiration and makes me hope that my countrymen will be the same.

For the several families in Japan who have lost loved ones and any other things, my prayers will always be with you. I really hope that you can get over this in the soonest time possible. You were united when you fall. I'm more than sure that you will be united tightly when you stand. God Bless all of you!

Chronicles of Losing Weight: Day One

Oooopsss! I did it again... Hopefully, it will work this time. Do you want to know what it is?! Well, after months of rest, I finally decided to go back to the the Lifestyle Management Center at the Central Philippine University in Jaro, Iloilo City. hehehe! Gotta lose weight people! :) Aint it wonderful? Hope yer happy for me, :)

Just a brief background: I weighed 182 lbs! Whew!

I started on the 15th of February. (Oh, it will be my first monthsary next week!) I chose to take the 8-10 schedule in the morning. Last year, I was on the afternoon session. Being on the first-hour schedule is better since I can do more chores and businesses in the afternoon. My "classmates" and I are the same in many ways. All of us are married, most of us have similar figures horizontally and vertically, and we are all mothers. They are older than me tho'.

Claire (my personal trainor) and I commenced with a thorough stretching. I began on the elliptical bike, setting it on 10 minutes. I thought my legs would split in half, hehehe! I burned 80 calories. Then, I set the threadmill on 15 minutes, 5-6 kilometers per hour and the gradient on 5. I burned 90 calories. Lastly, I rowed 1000 meters, which, I burned 52 calories.

After using the machines, We proceeded to 5 sets of abs exercise. T'was painful yet promising.

Not bad for my first day huh?! Arrgghhh, my body hurts... Good thing that Claire massaged me well, I felt lesser pain the next day.

Christmas and New Year Celebration

The month of December is the most-awaited period of the year. This is the time that everybody exudes love, hope and happiness. The moment of forgiveness and reconciliation.

Our Christmas celebration is great and our New Year is almost perfect. We had simple gifts for everyone else. The presents did not cost much, but, it is from our hearts. The food was simple, too. It was just enough for all of us.

Our New Year celebration is fantastic. We had firecrackers that made me deaf for a while, hehe!, we had 13 varieties of fruits and 13 kinds of mouth-watering meals. The preparation and the cooking (as if I cooked) was tiring but the end-result was more than satisfying, hehehe!(I love my own!)

Though, it is the time for forgiveness, all I can say is that... there is always time for everything... soon, when time heals all wounds... not now. :)

These events only happen for a day or two. The most important things to celebrate about is the birth of our Savior, the extra year that had been given to us and the time we spent with our families. These are the real essence of Christmas and New Year.

Where is Justice in the Philippines?

I am watching the breaking news about the decision of the Supreme Court to acquit convicted murderers Hubert Webb, Antonio Lejano, Michael Gatchalian, Pyke Fernandez, Miguel Rodriguez, Peter Estrada and Gerardo Biong in the Vizconde massacre case.

This is really breaking. My heart breaks after seeing Mr. Lauro Vizconde. All of a sudden, i felt so bad, so hurt and so hopeless for him. I had a flashback of the news bout the massacre in 1991. I can never ever imagine how painful it would be for Mr. Vizconde. AND, i can never ever imagine how more devastating it is for him today!

Is there really justice in the Philippines? After all the witnesses, what went wrong? Is it the situation wherein technology overrules the attestation of the people who knew about the heinous crime? I'm sure of one thing though... Justice in the Philippines is still elusive and has a price! And I bet that it is overpriced this time.

When things like this happen, do we still have to rely on our justice system? or should we put justice on our hands? Sad to say, i don't believe in our judiciary anymore. It sucks! The magistrates are crap! I believe that the best option for Filipinos would be the Law of Retaliation or the principle of "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth!" I regard it simply as the act of revenge without government rules. For me, this is better. You can get your own revenge without waiting for decades and this is more satisfying! This is cost-effective too.

I'm still broken. I still can't accept it. Anywayz, Welcome boys! Beware Filipino people...Here they come!

The Amazing Race Asia 4 Finale Results | Winners

The Amazing Race Asia 4 Finale Results and Winners. For the third time of having an almost-heart-attack situation while watching The Amazing Race Asia, I think that this season would make the Filipinos the proud. My fingers were crossed while watching the show.

In Amazing Race Asia 2, Marc and Rovilson almost made it through the first place. Geoff and Tisha landed on the 2nd place in the 3rd season. Now, it's already 41 minutes past 9 o'clock and the Richards are on the lead. Still, my fingers are crossed and I'm hoping and praying that they would win.

On their last challenge, Michelle and Claire seemed to outwit the Richards. Luckily, the Team Philippines pulled it through. And they win!!! The Richards from the Philippines won The Amazing Race Asia 4!

After 4 seasons of The Amazing Race Asia, after 3 seasons of having Filipino team on the top three, Richard and Richard from the Philippines won.

Great job guys! Cheers to you and to all the Filipinos around the world!

Philippine Prudential Life Insurance Co. - SCAM???

Tonights episode of XXX on ABS-CBN really caught my attention. I was dozing off when I heard that they wil feature the probable scam of Philippine Prudential Life in several malls.

My mind become active once again. I am really interested bout this because their agents irk every time I enter SM City. They are the ones who would stop you and ask if you have credit card. I see such manner as suspicious and rude.

One example... an OFW acquaintance of mine was once fooled and harassed by those people. Last summer, she went to SM with some relatives. She was asked to spare some time to listen, which she did eventually. After some explanations, she refused to avail the product. Then the agent asked for her credit card for VERIFICATION ONLY. For whatever reaons, she complied. The worst thing is, the agent blindsided her by using the card to purchase their offered insurance. Because of such incident, her supposed-to-be happy vacation become the worst ever. She didn't have enough money to spend after that crap!

This is not goòd, they are so bad! How could they do this? They are actually deceiving other people! They are so persistent to close a sale at the expense of other people's earnings.

Even the Insurance Commission confirmed that the Philippine Prudential Life performs a deceptive marketing. They further said that they will scrutinize the firm more. I hope that they won't fail.

Philippine Hostage Drama Ended

After more than 11 hours of hostage taking in a tourist bus, hostage-taker Rolando Mendoza was killed by the assault team of the police. It is just confirmed that 9 of the 15 held Chinese nationals is dead while others are under medical treatment in several Manila hospitals.

This is another tragic moment in the country. I could only imagine the effects of the incident on the economy, the tourism industry and the image of the Philippines as a whole. Though this may be considered as an isolated incident, the government, the armed forces or the national police and the media people could have done more to prevent the killings.

I think the situation was aggravated when Mendoza's brother alleged his fellow policemen of accusing him of being an accomplice to the crime. This, i believe, is the turning point of Mendoza's sanity. Did the negotiators or the media fail to resolve the situation???

Sigh.... My sympathies to the family of the victims. May God Bless those who suffered from this heart-breaking drama.

Philippine Hostage Taking Live Stream

A hostage taking took place today, August 23, 2010 at Quirino Grandstand in Manila, Philippines at around 8 a.m. The negotiation went smoothly until past 7 in the evening. The hostage taker is identified as former Police Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza. He took over a tourist bus with Chinese Nationals and some Filipinos.

He first demanded to know the result of his case in the Ombudsman. After a few hours, he demanded to be reinstated to work after being dismissed from the PNP for robbery extortion case in 2008. Lunch was provided for the hostages and he also asked to coordinate with the media.

Still, at past 7pm, the bus driver was seen running away from the bus saying that everybody is dead. There were 15 Chinese nationals and the hostage-taker in the bus. I think that the hostage-taker was aggravated after his brother was arrested by the police.

It has been more than 40 minutes since the SWAT team launched assault against the hostage-taker. The police used a mobile patrol car to pull the door of the bus.

A dead body of one of the hostages has been sighted on the camera. This person was earlier seen as the one who was handcuffed in the door.

The back door of the bus have already been opened. As of the moment, there was no sign of life.

The SWAT team had finally entered the bus. MMDA ambulance was also seen on the area. The sound of automatic gunfire from Mendoza was just heard. It is confirmed that a civilian was wounded.

I am so sure that we are all excited on who will be our next leaders... We all hope and anticipate the winning of those whom we voted, right? After months of listening to the politicians' jingles or watching their television ads and attending their political rallies, I guess we all expect to have a fast 2010 Iloilo City Election Results as promised by the Comelec.

We have to admit that in the 2010 Iloilo City Election Results, we really look forward to whether Mayor Jerry Treñas will defeat Congressman Raul Gonzalez Jr. in the congressional seat or whether Vice Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog will win over Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Raul Gonzalez Sr. in the mayoralty race. These contenders are the hottest in the city.

UVA's lacrosse player detained for the murder of girlfriend

I keep on wondering why the violence against students have been so rampant nowadays. I won't talk about the incident in China wherein a psychologically impaired man hurt 29 children and 3 more adults in a preschool facility. That is too much to bear...

The latest is the murder of Yeardley Love, a senior student and a member of the women's lacrosse team at the University of Virginia. Love has been found dead at her apartment at 222 14th Street at around 2:15 am by her roommate.

The alleged killer of Love is George Huguely, a fellow student and lacrosse player. It has been inferred that Love and Huguely had been in a relationship. However, the Facebook account of Love discloses that Huguely is not listed as one of her friends.

According to Police Chief Tim Longo, the body of Love suffered from physical trauma. He also does not believe that a weapon has been used. The exact findings on the cause of her death will be determined after an autopsy.

The crime shocked the whole university, which celebrated the the men's lacrosse team's ACC Championship victory in the past week.

Huguely is now currently detained at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional jail.

American Idol 2010 Top 6 Celebrity Performers

Sarting this week, American Idol Season 9 will be more exciting. There are only six contestants left vying for the 2010 American Idol. I'm sure, these hopefuls are tougher and more committed to win.

The remaining six contenders are Aaron Kelly, Casey James, Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze, Michael Lynche and Siobhan Magnus.

On the April 28 elimination night, four celebrities will rock the event. Country music group Lady Antebellum will show their "Need You Now"song. Rascal Flatts will be singing "Unstopabble." sons of Sylvia will be doing the "Love Left to Lose." Sexy lady Shakira will be performing the "Gypsy.!

This episode of American Idol 2010 will be all about the music of Shania Teeain.She is responsible for the mentoring of the Top 6.

The Project Needlemouse is officially unveiled!SEGA announced the release of the Sonic the Hedgehog 4 this summer through Xbox LIVE Arcade, the PlayStation Network and the Wii Shop Channel.

The video game is a direct sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic and Knuckles and can be played in high definition via the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It will be a 2D side-scrolling platformer marked by the original Sonic games which emphasized speed. Sonic will be the only playable character in the game.

The mechanics of the game will be the same with SEGA Genesis games. A leadership support in some fashion will be there and some kind of motion control for the Wiimote and the PlayStation 3’s seldom-utilized Sixaxis controller will be implemented.

As I watched the news, my heart bleeds for those who were affected by Ondoy. However, as my day ended, I realized that I should be more sympathetic to those who regard themselves as JUDGES of the acts of others... I am not supposed to explain myself to others since I am not accountable to them... But, I am hurting! This post is intended for those who talked badly behind my back, those who judged me but couldn't even face me, to those who have hurt me today...

I have thought for a million times if I was to be blamed for a decision that had changed several lives, including my own. In my opinion, it was a WIN-WIN decision... Did you know that the entity is losing? or You have never thought of it because you still receive your paychecks even if you did not work... Had you shown compassion to the company? You could not even master your work! All that matters to you is being compensated for your STAY in the office regardless of your mistakes... You have no right to accuse me of dishonesty... I was able to take multiple jobs to provide the needs of my family. That's in addition to the salary of my spouse and the daily income of our small business. How dare you charge me with an offense that is so linked with you?!! or should I remind you that I'm not the needy one? I don't boast what I have, but I do not live beyond my means.

When my family member was hospitalized, did you show some concern?... or You just speculated on the worst reason for her admission?! Had you known that she intended to take her life away, would you be sorry? Well, I suppose that you may feel sorry for her then put the blame on another people. That's what you're good at, right? You can't just compare her with other sluts out there. You have not endured her plight... She may had been misguided but she's not different from some girls who live with their parents. There are actually some parents who looked at their children so perfectly that they even fight for their wrongdoings. We accept criticisms, we encourage suggestions on how to deal with her... How about you? Can we make a comment about your child?

Your immature talks keep me wondering on how PERFECT your life is since you really have the nerve to say such things about other people. I abominate your capability to curse us and what we do. I loathe your inability to be simply happy for us. I abhor your blindness to see the good things that we had done to you. I disgust the fact that we belong on the same family.

You don't really know me well to judge me... My life is absolutely not perfect... I had made mistakes, horrible mistakes.. I had affected some lives and I felt so sorry for it. Besides, all my mistakes had greatly impacted myself... I blamed no one, I faced all the consequences... And I learned from all the experiences that I went through.

If there are changes in your lives, you cannot overcome it by putting the blame on other people. Why not contemplate on how to move on?! Just accept that truth that you can't just rely on other people for the rest of your life.

Lastly, I am not frequent church-goer... but, as much as possible, I obey what is written on the Bible... That goes with learning to love all of you after what happened! The Bible says to Love my Enemies... In the end, even though how bad you thought or said about me, that will not really matter... I am only accountable to God and not to all of you!!!

I received a text joke yesterday... It goes like this... "What is the camera used for making scandals?!"... the answer: Hayden Camera... hahaha!! corny, but, somewhat true and controversial nowadays..

For me, the Hayden sex videos have great implications on men and women. After watching the videos, I suppose that men wanted their women to be as wild as Maricar Reyes and the women wanted their men to be as sensual as Hayden Kho. However, it will be so nakakaloka if couples would look for someone like Hayden or Maricar elsewhere and not enhance their own wildness or sensuality.

One piece of advice: Don't regard the Hayden videos as scandalous, it is actually an educational tool for couples out there who wanted to attain the paroxysmal excitement in their sexual life.

I am having a difficult time on how to deal with my teenager niece. Her parents separated two years ago, she was away from her siblings (it's her choice!) and she had become very rebellious at our expense... At first, we tried to understand her situation, until she become very abusive of our love and understanding. She started going home very very late and drunk. She goes out and goes home as if we do not exist in the household.

I really can't stand her anymore, yet, I could not just throw her away from home. I could not rely on my hopes and wishes for her change. I'll just pray to St. Jude, the patron saint for the hopeless case!, hahaha!

I am simple being. I'm not religious but I believe in God. I'm not naive but I also do not know a lot of things. I please people whom I know, but there are others who are disgusted with my attitude. (I'm not affected with their grudges though). I really don't care about what other people might say. Every time I wake up, I see to it that I will stick to who I really am. I finish my day without pretensions. That's what makes me happy.

We all know of the fact that a female's life is far more difficult than that of a male. Right?

Gender injustice is very much visible since birth. Male individuals have simpler body structures than women. Women suffer from monthly period while men do not. The treatment of other people also differs on the sexual being of a person.

Some people who thought of men as the more blessed beings. But, I don't believe them. We are all Equal!

But, I won't be talking much about this crap. I am more interested in telling my life experiences. All womanly life chronicles.

From now on, this will be my medium for expressing my thoughts and feelings.
